A LOCAL BONSPIEL

 

            The Waupaca Curling Club has arranged for a local bonspiel, which is already under way.  The rinks are made up as follows:

                        E.M. Jones, E.B. Knapp, Jeff Woodnorth, H.W. Williams, skip.

                        G.W. Gocha, C.R. Hoffmann, J.L. Sturtevant, H.M. Lea, skip.

                        A.G. Nelson, T. Cook, E.W. Smith, S.S. Chandler Jr., skip.

                        Chas. M. Hall, D. James, Frank Stout, J.H. McCullough, skip.

                        Frank Turnell, A.W. Hollenbeck, A.M. Chandler, Frank Whipple, skip.

                        H.R. Roberts, Alf. Hanson, M.B. Scott, J.F. Knudsen, skip.

            Games are being played nearly every afternoon and evening in the rink on Curlers Island, and spectators are always welcome.  The prizes have not yet been decided upon.

            The games played up to Thursday noon have resulted as follows:

                        H.M. Lea 23, vs. S.S. Chandler, 15.

                        Frank Whipple 18, vs. J.F. Knudsen, 8.

                        J.H. McCullough 16, vs. H.M. Lea, 10.

                        J.F. Knudsen 18, vs. H.W. Williams 8.

                        S.S. Chandler 19, vs. J.F. Knudsen 7.

                        J.H. McCullough 13, vs. Frank Whipple 11.
