WAUPACA REPUBLICAN November 30, 1893 The need of a public hall is again brought into notice by the leasing of the opera house by the curlers. That building cannot be used as a theater in the winter time because it is impossible to heat it, and the curlers, therefore, are not to be blamed for using it as a rink. There is more talk this year about the Dane’s Home Society building a hall suitable for public entertainments. Or a city hall would be a good thing for the public. The Curlers have rented the opera house and work was commenced on Monday evening. The floor of the stage ….. |
