WAUPACA REPUBLICAN December 1, 1893 THE CURLERS Annual Meeting of the Waupaca Curling Club The Curling Club held their annual meeting at Williams’ Hardware store Saturday night, and elected officers as follows: Pres. – A.W. Hollenbeck Vice Pres. – A.M Chandler Secy. – Frank Whipple Treas. – E.B. Knapp The officers also comprise the executive committee. The Club has rented the Opera house for the winter which will be flooded and frozen as soon as possible. A number of match games are in prospect. The Appleton and DePere Clubs expect to visit Waupaca some time during the winter for a grand bonspiel. There will be an increase in the membership of the club by at least ten. Much interest is awakening over this Scotch game. The grand bonspiel of Northwestern Curling Association will be held in St. Paul Jan. 16th. Three rinks will attend from Waupaca. |
