WAUPACA POST

January 2, 1890

The fire committee of the city council has at lat settled the much vexed fire question, at least so far as the keeping of the apparatus is concerned.  On Monday last the committee made a contract with Hans Jensen to house the fire engine, hose cart and hook and ladder truck, keep them in good condition, and furnish a team for the engine as often as is needed, for the period of three years, the city to pay therefore $500 per year, with the understanding that Jensen’s team is to be used on street work when necessary. Jensen has rented the Jno. M. Ware warehouse at the head of Fulton Street, and as soon as it is fitted up the apparatus will be moved there.
