WAUPACA COUNTY NEWS November 24, 1921 LAABS GETS PRIZES W.H. Laabs, well known chicken man of Waupaca returned from Milwaukee on Sunday, where he had been in attendance at the annual poultry show in that city, wearing the smile that won’t come off. The reason was that his Reds had come off with all the big honors. The prizes taken by Mr. Laabs chickens were as follows: 1st cock 1st and 4th cockeral 2nd hen 2nd, 3rd, and 4th pullet 1st old pen 2nd young pen 1st and best display Mr. Laabs received over $100 in cash, and the ribbons and medals he brought home in a trunk. This competition with over 400 Reds. There were over 3,00 birds of all kinds entered at the show. |
