WAUPACA COUNTY POST

May 3, 1923

CITY RECOVERS COST OF KEEPING LITTLE SON OF F. LORRAINE

This week Fredric Loraine sent through the British Consul at St. Paul, Minn., one hundred thirty dollars which is a sum large enough to reimburse the city for the $115.00 expended for keeping Lloyd Loraine and to pay his fare to Minneapolis to join his father.  The money was sent through Farmers State Bank according to Cashier Harry W. Rawson.

Sheriff Swenson now feels that his judgment, in taking the word of the senior Loraine instead of applying for extradition papers which would entail very much greater outlay by the county, has been fully vindicated by the happy outcome of what seemed to be a most embarrassing situation.  The city will now have no claim to present to the county board on account of this case at least.
