WAUPACA POST

May 30, 1889

The stench arising from the half baked and wholly rotten potatoes still remaining in the cellar of the warehouse recently burned at the depot, is sickening, and those who are waiting for outgoing trains hold their noses and watch the slow minutes drag their weary way around the dial of the station clock, while those who alight from the incoming trains take an extra grip on their last lunch and hasten for the windward side of the cellar with as much celerity as circumstances and baggage will permit.  It is a horrible stench and is getting worse.
