A NEW BRIDGE

The Amherst Advocate says:  Bridge builders in the employ of the Soo Line are now busy erecting a new road bridge over the Soo track just east of the Geo. Ciperlie place, to replace the old and dangerous structure now doing duty at this spot.

The new structure will be of wood construction, which is regrettable, but it will be a great improvement over the old, nevertheless.  It is being built more on an east and west line, than the old so as to do away with the dangerous abrupt turns at each end, which made the old bridge such a menace to safe auto travel.

Work on the new bridge is being carried forward rapidly and it won’t be long before travel will be going over it.

This particular point has been for years a dangerous place on the much traveled Federal highway 18, on account of the dangerous turns in the road at each end of the bridge.  The new structure was ordered by the State highway commission and it will be safe in every respect.
