PARENT TEACHER ASS’N ORGANIZATION FORMED IN WAUPACA MONDAY EVENING
On Monday evening of this week the meeting called by Principal Edward G. Lang for the purpose of organizing a Parent-Teachers Association in Waupaca, was held in the assembly room of the high school. The meeting was largely attended, and was opened with community singing from 7:30 until 8:00 o’clock. The purpose of an organization of this kind was talked over and the good that it would accomplish was shown, following which the following officers were elected: President – Ward Fallgatter Vice-President – F.E. Chandler Secretary and Treasurer – Clifford Hume Chairman of Organization Committee – Edward G. Lang A program committee will be appointed by the president later on. The need of an organization of this nature has been felt in Waupaca for a long time, and the Parent-Teacher Association will mean much for both the parents, teachers and students. Arrangements have been made to bring Miss Anna Zellmer of the State Board of Health, to Waupaca and she will be in the city on Friday of this week. She will speak to the girls at the high school at 4:00 o’clock in the afternoon. At 7:30 o’clock in the evening she will talk to the woman at the court house, it being chosen for the meeting on account of its being more centrally located than the school building. Miss Zellmer will bring out a good many facts, statistics, and problems, that are of the most vital interest to the community. For the past week Miss Zellmer has been lecturing in this county, and much good is anticipated from the work she is doing. |
