AUTOISTS FACE ARREST

 

            Owners of automobiles have just one week of grace in which to obtain their 1922 green and white licenses.

            This announcement was made on Tuesday by Secretary of State Elmer S. Hall, who declares that an inspection corps of five men would be sent out on the road after Jan. 15 to cause the arrest of all automobilists whose cars are not equipped with a 1922 plate.

            Applications have been pouring in to the secretary of state’s office at the rate of 2,500 a day, but the shipments are made so promptly despite this rush that there will be no excuse for a person operating a car without a license after Jan. 15.

            Fines derived on state warrants for violation of the automobile license law will help swell the state school fund.
