A NEW FACTORY FOR WAUPACA

HOAGLIN MANUFACTURING CO. ERECTING PLANT ON SHEARER STREET

TO MANUFACTURE NOVELTIES

Carpenters at Work on the Building Which Will be Ready in About a Month

Will Then Run at Full Capacity on Three Lines at The Present Time – More Later

The grading has been completed and the carpenter crew is at work on a building being constructed on Shearer St., directly opposite the Central Lumber Company’s office, to be used by the Hoaglin Manufacturing Company for the manufacture of advertising novelties.  This building, one story high, 26 x 26 feet with the long side to the street, will be ready in about one month.

Machinery has been purchased and will be installed as quickly as possible for the manufacture of Fly Swats, Kitchen Recipe Files, and the No-Spill Gasoline Funnel; all three of these specialties are the inventions of F.L. Hoaglin, general manager of the company.  When running full capacity the plant will employ about ten people, giving a daily output of about ten thousand of the Fly Swats, and about one thousand of the Recipe Files; the Funnels require a little more time in their making.  The motive power will be gasoline.

Mr. Hoaglin has been engaged in this business in this city for about three years with such marked success that the quarters at present occupied are entirely inadequate to their needs thus necessitating the present project.  Undoubtedly as the business expands, and the management is warranted in doing so, other lines of novelty manufacture will be taken on.
