Jeffers & Hudson Novelty Works01

WAUPACA POST

The sewer pipe crossing Fulton street from Jeffers & Hudson’s store to the bank, was taken out Tuesday and new pipe, twice as large as the old, put in its place.  It is believed this will obliterate the frog pond that usual exists in wet weather in front of Jeffers & Hudson’s store.

Messrs. Jeffers and Hudson will, as soon as thy get the business affairs of their store closed, devote their entire attention to the business of the

                                    WAUPACA NOVELTY WORKS COMPANY

an institution which has been growing up in our midst without any trumpets to sound the fact that it as already passed the experimental stage, turning out in the last two years, with their limited facilities, over $13,000 worth of machines.  Messrs. L.D. Dana, C.R. Hudson and E.B. Jeffers are the owners of the plant, and the corporation will be incorporated under the state laws and steps taken to enlarge the works or rather build works on a large enough scale to supply the demand for their products.

            They make at present:

                        Dana’s Power Friction Clutches

                        Emery Grinding Machines

                        Band Saw Machines

                        Portable Forges

                        Coffee Mills

                        Blacksmiths’ Blowers

                        Circular Saw Machines

                        Jewelers’ Polishers and Buffing Machines

All of the above articles are made in different sizes.

They have scores of testimonials as to the superiority of their inventions and goods turned out and while their sales have been made to dealers who at first carefully placed them on the market, they proved so valuable and filled the bill so satisfactorily that now it is impossible to supply the demand without enlarging the works.

Waupaca will do well to look into the facts above noted and do something to encourage them to remain, as already the company is having overtures from other cities to come “their way”.  If they go into the manufacture as they contemplate it will give employment to a large force of workmen.
