FRED
LEA
Clothing,
Boots and Shoes, Etc.
Among the various branches of trade
that swell the volume of mercantile transactions in an increasing extent each
year, the business of the above named firm assumes prominence. The nucleus of the prosperous trade at present done by Mr. Lea dates back a period of eleven years.
The success enjoyed by this gentleman is both gratifying and deserved and is
due to a large extent to the unrivaled quality, elegance and style of the goods
in stock combined with the universally low prices and impartial treatment
toward all patrons. The clothing
department which occupies one-half of the large store
is complete in every detail and was selected with the greatest care, as was the
gent’s furnishing goods, hats, caps, trunks and valises.
The stock of boots and shoes
displayed is one of the most complete in the city and embraces the best grades
and latest fashionable styles in ladies and gents footwear. Attention is specially called to the
celebrated Douglass $3.00 shoe that is undoubtedly the best article in the
country for the money, combining both durability and style. Mr. Lea has lived in Waupaca the greater part
of his life, and during the years of his association with the business and
progressive interests of the city, he has established an enviable record and
secured a large circle of friends and acquaintances. He was elected Mayor last spring and has
officiated in that capacity in a manner reflecting great credit upon himself,
the city’s interest being carefully guarded while under his administration and
has enjoyed a prosperity seldom equaled.

THE
CLOTHING HOUSE
Of A.R. Lea, of Fred, as he is
better known perhaps, our net place of observation occupies a position in business
circles of leading importance. This
house was established about three years ago, and today stands at the head and
front as regards the clothing trade of Waupaca County. Mr. Lea has just moved into new and more
commodious quarters in the new Parish block, which is one of the most
attractive in the city. A largely
increased installment of new goods have just been received, and the store which
is 65 feet in length by 22 in width, is literally packed with goods from floor
to ceiling, making without doubt much the largest stock of ready made clothing
ever before seen in Waupaca. The stock
embraces men’s, boys’ and children’s clothing, gents furnishing goods, hats,
caps, boots, shoes, trunks and valises.
The goods are made form the very best of material, and the prices are
low beyond precedent. Among the numerous
well-stocked mercantile establishments of which Waupaca can boast this is one
of the best, and the people of this section will find
here every advantage in the purchase of goods that could be secured in the
largest cities in the state.
