MASONIC LODGE WILL EXTEND ITS BUILDING

BUILDING NOW OCCUPIED BY STRATTON’S DRUG STORE AND STAR BAKERY TO REACH ALLEY

At the regular meeting of F & A.M. Lodge No 123 Tuesday evening final action was taken on the matter of extending the Masonic Block to the alley.

The Masonic block is one of the landmarks of the city and when first erected was considered one of the most up-to-date lodge homes in this part of Wisconsin

The lodge has greatly prospered in membership and for several years the extension of the building west to the alley, the rearrangement and enlargement of the lodge room has been a pressing question. The fact that this improvement had not been made earlier may be explained in the fact that it takes time to arrange with tenants, make plans to suit the best interests of the lodge and the occupants of the first floor who realize the value of this central location as a business asset.

All this preliminary work has been done and the sentiment was favorable Tuesday and a building committee consisting of F.A Lear, John A. Peterson and A.E. Woody was appointed.
