Rosa Theatre Opens With Sunday Matinee
Adler’s Rosa Theatre will re-open for business with a Sunday matinee Jan. 12 and the showing of “Francis in the Haunted House”.
The Main St. Theatre has been closed since September, 1955 while the Palace Theatre continued to operate.
The Rosa is being redecorated and is now equipped with a new large motion picture screen and special lenses for the presentation of CinemaScope and VistaVision films.
“With the re-opening of this perfect playhouse, we renew our pledge as your servants to render service and fulfill your every entertainment wish,” said J.P. Adler, president of the Adler Theatre Co., Inc.
He revealed that statistics indicted a marked increase in attendance at theatres throughout the nation during 1956. He said the expense involved in redecorating, equipping and re-opening the Rosa theatre will be justified by the increased attendance at “one of Wisconsin’s most luxurious theatres where all can relax and enjoy freedom from daily problems of care and strain”.
Roses will be given all women attending the Sunday matinee and gift will be presented through the courtesy of Verna’s Beauty salon, according to Dorothy Heigerson, local manager. Evening shows will begin at 7 and 9 p.m.
Plus features during the four-day grand re-opening run will be “Three Kisses”, “The Spooky Night”, and a Walt Disney all-story comedy classic.
