TRACTORS TO BE MANUFACTURED IN THIS CITY
STEWART CO. ACCEPTS PROPOSITION
WHICH PRACTIALLY ASSURES LOCATION OF PLANT IN THIS CITY
Tuesday, Roy Holly, E.A. Hannon and Lee I. Yorkson went to Tigerton and met with the entire board of the Stewart Tractor Co. At this meeting important concessions were secured, and the Stewart people assured the location of the factory in Waupaca. The total amount to be raised by Waupaca has been reduced to $60,000, the amount already secured to stand, and the balance to be raised by direct sales, which will be sold by an organized sales force, under the direction of Mr. Wayland. The total amount of $60,000must be raised within a specified time. Stock sales have commenced and as soon as $200,000 or more of stock has been sold, building operations wills tart immediately.
Persons desiring stock can secure it at either of the banks or at the office of Lee I. Yorkson. It is hoped that a prompt response will be made.
Credit for this successful campaign is due to the Waupaca Civic and commerce Association which has had the cooperation of the business men and other citizens of Waupaca and vicinity, and is an indication of the enormous value which such an organization is to a community.
