JUDD WINKLER INJURED WHEN CAR HITS BUGGY

DR. F.C. WOOD, WHO TREATED PATIENT,

REPORTS TWO RIBS BROKEN, BESIDES SHOCK

While Judd Winkler was driving a single horse before a top buggy towards his home west of this city early Saturday evening, he sustained painful injuries including two fractured ribs as the result of being run down by a Ford truck, according to those who were called to the aid of the unfortunate man.

It is claimed that the driver of the truck was the caretaker of Greenwood Lodge at Chain o’ Lakes which is owned by Mudd and Johnson of Chicago.

Besides wrecking the buggy and injuring its occupant it is reported that the horse was thrown down and cut and every strap of harness torn from the animal save only the bridle.  The shock which Mr. Winkler received will doubtless cause him much suffering long after the fractured bones have knitted and permit him to get about.

Some two weeks ago the sheriff had occasion to seize the same car and hold it until the owner had paid the damage to another car with which he had a collision.

Mr. Winkler’s many friends hope that his recovery may be rapid and complete and that he may recover from his injuries and losses in so far as this is possible.
