Ballard Taken on Moonshine Charge

William Ballard, who lives in a house near the Soo line tracks, was arrested Tuesday by Sheriff James Hanson and Under-sheriff Millard, charged with moonshining. The arrest follows a raid Feb. 16, when the sheriff’s party found evidences that liquor had been in the place and but recently removed. Four jugs, with a few drops of liquor still in them and a funnel still wet with liquor, were confiscated and a test made of the dregs in the jugs. Ballard will be held for trial.
