COUNTY WIDE RAID IS MADE DURING WEEK

MOONSHINE FOUND IN POSSESSION OF SUSPECTS

AND FIVE ARE BOUND OVER TO CIRCUIT COURT

Undersheriff Halbert Swenson with two federal detectives went on a county wide raid last Thursday to round up some of those suspected of unlawful sale of liquor.  In every premise searched the officers found liquor in quantities ranging from a quart to three gallons and this liquor was seized as proof of guilt of the owner or operator of the raided premises.

On December 8, the place of Emil Jahsman of Symco was searched and liquor was found.  On being brought before a justice of peace the defendant waived examination and was bound over for trial at the June term of Circuit court.

At Marion the place of Boyd Meyers was searched and the attendant August Bresler was arrested on the charge of attempting to destroy evidence.  Bresler and Meyers waived examination and both were bound over to Circuit court.

Albert Wangelin of Readfield was arrested for keeping liquor for unlawful sale and waived examination and was bound over to circuit court.

Mrs. Henrietta Henjum, Royalton, near the depot at Weyauwega, was one of those arrested and when taken before a justice she waived examination and was bound over to circuit court.

Several other arrests have been made, and hearings will be held in the near future when Dist. Atty. Olen can be present to conduct the cases in behalf of the state.
