As was expected, the cases of the State vs. Goldberg and Hoxie, charged with perjury, were continued over the term upon motion of the defendant, at the opening of the December term of court at Shawano on Monday last. District Attorney Wheeler was present on behalf of the state, but the defendants asked for a continuance on the grounds of illness and it was granted. The case will probably come up for trial at the May, 1899, term. Goldberg is at Mt. Clements, Mich., for treatment.
