TWO SCANDINAVIA
BOYS IN TROUBLE
Are Held at Antigo on
Charge of A Serious Crime
Wenzel
Wanninger of Antigo was shot and instantly killed on Saturday Nov. 23, in a
saloon. The shooting was the result of a
scuffle in which three or four were engaged.
All were drinking and Edward Jacobson and Halverson, two young men of Scandinavia,
are in jail. It is alleged they are
charged with the crime. Both are young
boys, 18 to 20, and they went north recently to work in the woods. But little can be learned of the affair.

MAY PAY THE PENALTY
IN PRISON
On
Saturday evening at Antigo, Edward Jacobsen, a nineteen year old resident of Scandinavia,
shot and killed Wenzel Wanniger in the lobby of the Windsor Hotel. As near as we can learn particulars it would
seem that Jacobsen and comrade, Rasmus Halverson, were intoxicated and went
into the hotel and began handling the furniture rather roughly. The murdered man, who was hotel clerk,
ordered them to desist. Jacobsen then
drew a revolver, shooting Wanniger in the shoulder. It is said that Wanniger then ran, but was
met by Jacobsen, who shot or struck him a blow on the heart region, causing
almost instant death. Both Jacobsen and
Halverson were placed under arrest. We
learn that Jacobsen, who did the shooting, is no relative of Ex-Supervisor
Jacobson.
