On Thursday last the news reached here of the death of the day before at Tularosa, New Mexico, of J.H. Worby, one of Iola’s old settlers.  He was about seventy-three years of age and suffered much from wounds incurred while serving in a volunteer artillery during the Rebellion, but it is understood that his death was brought about by the excessive heat of the section where he was.  He is survived by the wife to whom he was married to in 1866 and by seven children, two sons and five daughters all of whom reside in different parts of Wisconsin, with the exception of one daughter, who lives in Washington.  The remains will be brought to this place [Iola] for interment, being expected the last of the week.
