Gordinier Hotel03

Waupaca Post

H.D. Quandt and family arrived on Friday, and took possession of the Gordinier hotel, which Mr. Quandt recently purchased of A.G. Meiklejohn,, on Monday, April 1.  Mr. Quandt was a resident of this county for many years, removing to Mississippi about eight years ago.  He does not expect to take active management of the business, which, for the present, will be in the hands of H. Hippler, for some years with the Elwood at New London. Mr. Quandt may rent the hotel later, in which event, the name will probably be changed.

Mr. and Mrs. C.S. Gordinier, who retired on Monday, have been in the hotel business in this city for the past eight years, the last five of which have been in the building just sold.  The have made a success of the business, and have made many friends with the traveling public who will regret to learn of their departure.  Their plans for the future are as yet not settled, for the present they will take a well earned vacation.
