Council Meeting June 1907

Waupaca Post

June 6, 1907

A petition form CC Jaeger asking that a sidewalk grade be established on Main street, near Cemetery road, was referred to the street committee.

A petition for a cement crossing from Knapp’s store corner to Holly’s store corner, across Main street, was granted, and $40 was appropriated therefore.

The fire department committee recommended that $750 be appropriated for a new hook and ladder truck, and the report was adopted.

A resolution was passed, fixing the wages of laborers on street work at $2.00 per day.  This had been made necessary by the Wisconsin Granite company and the contractor on the Green Bay Waupaca Railway, who are paying that wage for labor.

City Clerk Woodnorth was instructed to write Engineer Kirchoffer regarding the location of the sewers in the center of the streets, as shown by the plans which he sent here last week, and to ask him if they could not be placed in the alleys.
