POULTRY ASSOCIATION ORGANIZED

Plans are being made for a local poultry exhibit to be held in Waupaca yearly, its object being, to increase the raising of pure bred poultry and interest others in the matter.

Last Friday a meeting was held in Laabs’ store and “The Waupaca and Pet Stock Association” was organized, and the following officers elected:

            President – W.H. Laabs

                        Vice President – C.J. Behrendt

                        Treasurer – R.L. Pope

                        Superintendent – S.F. Taylor

                        Secretary – F.A. Houseman

                        Directors – C.C. Jaeger, W. Ottman, C.A. Hansen, M. Steinmates, Oscar Smith,

B. Bellinger, E.C. Ware, F. Lear, Ray Nelson.

On Monday another meeting was held and it was decided to hold a show sometime in February, and strong efforts are to be made to make it a success.

All interested are requested to attend the next meeting Monday, Jan. 23, at 7:30 p.m., at Laabs’ store and join.  The dues were fixed at 50 cents per year payable in advance, and the entrance fee at 15 cents for each bird or animal exhibited.  The expense is not great and it is hoped that those interested will come out next Monday and help the officers, as if proper efforts are taken there is a possibility of securing the State Show next year or the year following.                                                                                                             W.H. Laabs, Pres.
