LIVELY RUNAWAY MONDAY

While the single rig belonging to Frank Burgess was standing in front of the Henry Jensen house, recently purchased by George Bradway, the horse became frightened.  It is reported that the cause was an auto driven by Frank Hodge of Veterans’ Home.

August Larson, who reached the lines just as the animal started, was dragged for a distance but escaped serious injury.  The rig was badly smashed and after running south on Washington Street and turning the corner south at Cristy’s store the horse, with a pair of thills and parts of the fore wheels, stopped near a team hitched near the post office.  Dr. Atkinson is reported to have said that the horse was looking for some one to run out and stop him when he passed his barn.
