FUMIGATING APPARATUS EXPLODES
As City Health Officer Borchardt was fumigating the residence of Mrs. C. Gruenwald from the traces of recent cases of small pox, last week, the heating apparatus used for creating the formaldehyde fumes exploded as he was approaching it and badly burned his face and neck, also reaching the left eye. He immediately rushed to Milwaukee to an eye specialist and returned Saturday night, when he stated that while vision may be impaired in the organ the sight would be saved. – New London Press
