Lorenzo B. Allen was born at Pierpont, Manor, New York, in 1842. He served in the Civil War for three yers, bugler in the 1-th New York Heavy Artillery.

In 1870 he married Kate Dunn, and in 1873 they moved to Wisconsin. They lived in Sheridan for a number of years, moving to Waupaca in 1890, where he resided until his death on June 14, of this year. Death was caused by heart trouble.

The funeral was held Friday, June 10, from the home on West Union Street, Rev. E.M. Oliver officiating. Interment was in Lakeside Cemetery.

Two children were born of the marriage, Mrs. M.B. Scott, who died in 1910, and Dr. E.J. Allen of Seattle, Wash. Two grandchildren, Allen Scott and Edward Allen, Jr.

Dr. E.J. Allen of Seattle intended to be here at the time of the funeral, but due to the floods in the Dakotas and Minnesota, his train was held up for over thirty hours. He arrived in the city Saturday.
