Waupaca Record

October 17, 1907

Calvin P. Baldwin died very suddenly of heart trouble at his home in Weyauwega on Tuesday morning about 4 o’clock.

Mr. Baldwin was about fifty-two years of age, one of the substantial business men of the place, being the principal owner of the Baldwin Creamery Co.  He was apparently as well as ever Monday and attended to business as usual.  During the night Mrs. Baldwin was awakened by his heavy breathing, and she arose and after working over him a few moments called Dr. Kyes and then Dr. Jones, but he died before either doctor arrived.  He leaves a widow and a daughter, Florence, who is attending school at Carroll College, Waukesha.

He was married in October, 1879 to Miss Clara Mooney of Markesan, Wis., who with his one daughter, Miss Florence constitute the remaining family.

In 1891 Mr. Baldwin removed to Weyauwega where together with M.P. and O.D. Sanders, he organized the Baldwin Creamery Company, of which he has since been the head, the Sanders later retiring and C.A. Peterson becoming a partner.

Mr. Baldwin and family have spent several seasons at their cottage on Columbian Lake here and have many friends in this city, who extend sympathy to the bereaved family.

The funeral services will be held this afternoon from the family residence at two o’clock.
