DEATH OF MRS. BEARDMORE

 

            Thursday, Jan . 19, Mrs. Beardmore, one of the oldest residents of this city, died at the home of her adopted daughter, Mrs. Arthur harness, near Neenah.  The remains were brought to this city where the funeral was held at the M.E. church at one o’clock Saturday, Rev. Millar officiating.  Deceased was born in New York state November 17, 1829, her maiden name being Maria Palmer.  She was a sister of Dr. H.R. Palmer who is a well known composer of music and author of several popular song books.

            Her first marriage was to Wm. Pitcher of which union were two sons, Herman Pitcher (deceased) and Anson Pitcher of Plover.  After the death of Mr. Pitcher in 1865 she was a widow for some years but later became the wife of the late Frank Beardmore of Farmington.

            Mrs. Beardmore’s son, Herman Pitcher, died seven years ago in November on his mother’s birthday anniversary and her death occurred last Thursday which was the anniversary of his birthday.

            The relatives from out of town who attended the funeral were:  Mr. and Mrs. Anson Pitcher and daughter Lillian of Plover, Mr. and Mrs. John Gurney of Stevens Point, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Harness and daughters of Neenah, Mrs. Mary Pitcher of Antigo and Mr. and Mrs. W.H. Beardmore of Sheridan.
