HANS BENLICK DEAD

Death Claims One of the Well Known Men of This County

Hans Benlick died at his home in this city at 10:15 o’clock Wednesday night of stomach trouble.  Deceased was about seventy years of age.

Hans Benlick was born in Denmark and came to Waupaca in 1862, at the same time with Ole Oleson.  Mr. Benlick served a year in the army and upon his return went into the cooperage business.  He later acted as bookkeeper for Dayton, Dewey & Co.  He was elected to many offices of trust, county and city treasurer, alderman and supervisor among the number.  He was in the meat market business and for a time farmed in Lind.  He was a prominent member of the A.O.U.W. and the D.D.H. societies, a devout member of the Holy Ghost church, a kind father and loving husband.  He will be missed by a large circle of friends.  A wife and six children survive:  Charles of New York; Mrs. Anna Hughes of Minneapolis; Mrs. Minnie Riggs of Fond du Lac; Albert of Lake Gogebic and Mary and Walter of Waupaca.

The funeral will take place Saturday afternoon, a short service at the house at twelve and at the church at 12:30.  Interment at Lake View cemetery.
