Mrs. Hannah Black passed away Wednesday morning at 1 o’clock after an illness of about four
months’ duration at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. Peter Johnson.
Deceased was born in Lolland,
Denmark, October 19, 1835, where she was
married to Soren Nelson Black and in 1862 emigrated to
America, coming
to Waupaca and have resided here since, being one of the earliest
settlers. Besides a host of friends she
leaves to mourn her loss three daughters, Mrs. Mary Hanson, Iola; Mrs. Alfred
Johnson and Mrs. J. Peter Johnson, this city, and one son, Frank W. Black, of Petersburg,
Ill., and several grandchildren.
The funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 1:30 at the house and at 2 o’clock at the Holy Ghost Lutheran church.
