Dr. Carey Dies
On Wednesday Dr. Pelton was hastily summoned to Wild Rose to attend Dr. A.W. Carey, a prominent physician of that village, who was suffering with inflammation of the bowels. The doctor remained all night with him. On Thursday death ended al earthly sufferings
Dr. Carey was about 56 years of age. He was a member of the Wautoma Masonic lodge and was often a visitor to the Waupaca lodge. His daughter, Mary attended our public schools and graduated here in 1894. At the time of her father’s death she was at the university at Madison. His son, Fred Carey, was in the 2nd Regiment and was sent to the hospital from Porto [Puerto] Rico last August, and came near dying, the kind care and attention of his father only preventing. His father was with him and brought him home in the fall. The young man got well and hearty, and only Monday last he started from Waupaca for Canada to spend a year with his grandparents. A telegram has been sent for his return.
The funeral will be held Sunday at Wild Rose at 10 a.m. under the auspices of the Masonic lodge. There may be several loads of Masons from Waupaca in attendance if the roads hold good.
The family has the sympathy of all who know them in their great bereavement.
