Thomas Chase died of heart failure at the home of his son, D.H. Chase, in the town of Dayton, on Wednesday, April 1, at the advanced age of eighty-one years.

He was born in New York Dec. 20, 1826, and has been a prominent farmer of this section for many years. The remains were taken to Dale for burial on Saturday, April 4.
