Jens
Christensen died at the home of son, Christen Jenson, the old homestead, in the
town of Farming, last
Saturday. He was born in Denmark
in the year 1816 and was married in 1841.
Seven
children were born to them, two of whom are dead. His is survived by C. Jensen of Farmington,
J.P. Jenson of Neenah, Mas and Anton of McIntosh, Minn.,
and Mrs. Henry Jenson of Scandinavia. Mr. Christensen was probably the oldest
settler in Waupaca county. He was well liked and respected by all who
knew him.
The
funeral was held on Wednesday afternoon at half past one from the house and two o’clock from the Farmington
church and was laid at rest in the cemetery by the church, Rev. Andreasen officiating.

Jens
Christenson, almost a centeurian died at the home of
his son, Christian Jensen, where he has made his home for the past twenty-five
years on Friday Jan. 24. He was born in Denmark
on Mar. 2, 1816, and came to
America and
settled in Waupaca county in 1863, where he resided
continuously up to the time of his death.
He
is survived by four sons, James Peter Jensen of Neenah,
Mads and Anton Jensen of Mackintosh, Minn.,
Christian Jensen of Farmington, and
one daughter, Mrs. Marven Jensen of Scandinavia.
The
funeral was held from the old family residence on Wednesday at one o’clock and from the Lutheran
Church in Farmington
at two o’clock, with burial in the Farmington
cemetery, Rev. M.N. Andreasen officiating.
