The news of the sudden death from heart failure of Arthur B. Cormican, which occurred at his home two miles southwest of this city in the town of Farmington, Monday evening, May 19, at 5:45 o’clock, came as a great shock to his friends and relatives.  He was taken sick at 10:30 o’clock in the morning and suffered great pain until death relieved him. The remains were brought to this city to the home of his son, Dr. H.L. Cormican, where the funeral services were held this Thursday morning at 10 o’clock.  Rev. F.A. Hayward officiating, with interment at Lakeside.

Mr. Cormican was born in Cleves, Ohio, September 19, 1840, being therefore, sixty-one years and eight months old on the day of his death.  He came to Wisconsin with his parents when about thirteen years of age and lived near Portage.  In 1860 he moved to the present home two miles southwest of this city, and lived there until 1883, when he purchased the property on Main Street now owned by his son Dr. H.L. Cormican, moving back onto his farm in March, 1902.  In August 1861 he enlisted in Co. G., 21st Wis. Vol., and served till the close of the war.  For fifteen years he traveled for the grocery house of Roundy, Peckham & Co., Milwaukee, retiring in the spring of 1901.  He was married to Miss Amanda Vaughan, Nov. 14, 1864, who with their two children, Mrs. Ralph Rowe and Dr. H.L. Cormican, survive him.  Mr. Cormican was always an active, energetic businessman, the kindest of husbands and fathers, and the best of friends.  He will be truly missed.  The sorrowing family have the sympathy of all in this, their hour of bereavement.

Those from away who attended the funeral services were Mrs. Asa Putney of Readfield, South Dakota, and Mrs. Lester Benedict of Marshfield, sisters of Mr. Cormican.  H.M. Vaughan and daughter Gertrude of Racine.
