MRS. MARY COVER

An Old Pioneer Resident of Saxeville Dies in Minnesota

Remains Arrived Wednesday

On Wednesday afternoon Mrs. Jennie Alexander, and daughter Marion, arrived from Barnsville, Minn., with the remains of Mrs. Mary Cover mother of Mrs. Alexander who was widow of the late Dr. Cover a pioneer of Saxeville, who died there twenty years ago.

The mother has made it her home with her daughter for the past fifteen years.  Mrs. Alexander’s husband is a leading physician in Barnsville.

The funeral was held in Saxeville Friday afternoon at the Church and was largely attended by people in and village vicinity.  Especially was it of memorial interest because of the fact that Dr. and Mrs. Cover were among the earliest pioneers of Saxeville when it meant something to exist and succeed.  The Dr. raised a family, waited upon patients in the sparsely settled country and shaved shingles to pay for his farm home.  The old lady who has at last followed her late companion would have been 84 years of age in Sept.

Of the family two sons were present besides the daughter.  Howard of Oshkosh and Guy of Saxeville.

Mr. and Mrs. C.J. Vosburg of this city, were also present at the funeral.
