STEPHEN L. DOX
His Head Was Blown
Off While Cleaning a Shot Gun
Last
week report said that Stephen Dox a young man who
formerly lived here had died at his home in Oshkosh
having recently returned with his wife and baby from Colorado.
We have not seen or learned all the particulars except that it is said the
mother recently sold her property in Oshkosh
and invested in a farm for her son near Kaukaunanna
or Suamico.
A
dispatch to the evening Wisconsin Friday mentions the
fact of a fatal accident that befell young Dox. He
was at the farm house cleaning a shot gun, the hammer or hammers of the gun
caught against a step in such a way as to discharge the gun, the exploded
charge blowing the top of the young man’s head completely off. As no further particulars have been learned
we are lead to believe the burial must have taken place in Oshkosh
instead of here as was expected.
