Quite a sensation is reported from Ogdensburg, in regard to a death that occurred last Sunday evening, of quite a wealthy citizen, Martin Fort, who had a stroke of paralysis three years ago, and hasn’t been able to walk since.  For the past year he has been constantly in bed.  A brother seemed to be the main care.  A number of citizens and neighbors would frequently visit to offer aid.  One lady, in particular, was there a short time ago, and, seeing the condition the helpless man was in, undertook to give him a cleaning and change of clothing.  Turning hem over, she found a mass of maggots working in parts of his hip.  Not one in ten thousand would undertake the task she went through with.  This lady is known and remembered by all in that vicinity as being a hard worker among those in need.  No doctor being allowed to visit, by his request, no casket, no expense of any kind by the deceased or relatives.
