Gray Rosalia01
WAUPACA COUNTY POST
June 26, 1924
Mrs. Rosalia Jane Gray, third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Porter Swift, was born in Alagna County, New York, October 22, 1853, and died at her home in Belmont, Wis., June 13, 1924, at the age of seventy years, seven months, twenty-two days, after an illness of only a few hours.
In 1872 she was united in marriage to John B. Gray of Belmont, Wis. To this union were born five children, four of whom survive: Mrs. Grace Hyatt of Everett, Wash.; Mrs. Florence Booth of Cheyenne, Wyo.; Mrs. Gertrude Reid of New Rome, Wis., and Otis Gray of Hancock, Wis. Besides her loving husband and children she leaves to mourn her loss one sister, Mrs. Adell Poust, Lanark; two brothers, Elbert and Byron, of Oshkosh, sixteen grandchildren, besides many other relatives and friends who will miss one who was always ready and willing to help in time of need.
Funeral services were held at the Blaine church Sunday afternoon, June 15, Rev. W.P. Powell of Almond speaking comforting words to the sorrowing ones. The body was laid to its last rest in the Kent Cemetery.
A light is from our household gone,
A voice we loved is still;
A place is vacant in our heart
Which never can be filled.
God in His wisdom has recalled
The boon His love had given;
And though her body slumbers here,
Her soul is safe in heaven.
