Mrs. D. Habersaat Died Monday, Aged Eighty-four Years
Mrs. Ditlow Habersaat, died Monday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. C. Mortenson, State Street, after an illness of seven weeks of infirmities incident to old age.
Karen Marie Hendriksen was born in Lolland, Denmark, Jan. 13, 1842, and was married in 1865 to Oshkosh in 1868 where they resided for ten years when in 1878 they moved to a farm near Granite Quarry. After disposing of that farm they came to Waupaca city to reside and have a wide acquaintance.
Five children survive: Louis of Pelican, Amanda (Mrs. Jensen), Mary Mrs. C. Mortenson), Henry of this city and Gena (Mrs. Chas. Fredricksen of Los Angeles, Calif.) Besides the aged husband and the children there are fifteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and other relatives who cherish the memory of deceased.
July 9, 1925, a family reunion was held at the home of Mrs. Mortenson to observe the sixtieth wedding anniversary of this aged couple.
The funral will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:30 from the Mortenson residence on State Street and at 3 o’clock from the Holy Ghost church of which deceased was a member and worker in the Ladies’ Aid. Rev. K.M. Matthiesen will officiate.

MRS. DIDLO HABERSAAT
Karen Marie Hendrickson was born in Lolland, Denmark, on Jan. 13, 1842, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Chris Mortonson in this city on Monday, April 26, 1926, at the age of 84 years 3 months and 13 days. Death was caused by pneumonia she having been ill for seven weeks.
In 1865, in Denmark she was united in marriage to Didlo Habersaat. In 1868, Mr. and Mrs. Habersaat came to America, settling first in Oshkosh, this state. In 1878 they came to Waupaca county and settled on a farm near the Granite Quarry. Several years later they sold this farm and purchased one near Brainard’s bridge. Ten years ago they sold this property and moved to Waupaca, buying a home on North Street.
To Mr. and Mrs. Habersaat eight children were born, five of whom are living, they being Louis C. Habersaat of Pelican Lake, Mrs. Amanda Jensen of Waupaca, Mrs. Chris Mortenson of Waupaca, Henry Habersaat of Waupaca, Mrs. Chas. Fredrickson of Los Angeles, Calif., who with the husband are left to mourn their loss. There is also left fifteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. All the children will be in Waupaca to attend the funeral of their mother.
Not quite a year ago Mr. and Mrs. Habersaat celebrated their Diamond wedding anniversary. Mrs. Habersaat was a member of the Holy Ghost Lutheran church. She was a good wife and mother, and a true friend who will be missed by all who knew her.
The funeral will be held on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock from the Christ Mortenson home on St. State Street, the Rev. K.M. Matthiesen officiating. Interment will be in Lakeside cemetery.
