Geo. H. James Succumbs to Grim Reaper
Passed Away at Home on Thursday, May 17, After Many Months of Wasting Illness
George H. James passed away at his home in this city Thursday morning, May 17, at four o’clock, after a lingering illness of several months.
The funeral will be strictly private, only members of the family to attend, and to assist in the obsequies.
Born at Pine River, Nov. 19, 1858, deceased was in his seventieth year when called by the grim reaper.
Two sisters, Mary and Hannah James of Toronto, Canada, his widow and those of more remote kinship, remain to mourn his passing.
After attaining his majority, the subject of this sketch, came to Waupaca and attended high school, being the sole graduate of 1882.
He has been in business in Waupaca since 1891, and had earned an enviable reputation for strict integrity and uprightness.
His most intimate associations in a social way were among the members of the Masonic order of which he was a most loyal and active member at a time when his services were most appreciated.
In the passing of George H. James Waupaca loses one of its most outstanding citizens.
