MRS. CHRISTIAN JENSEN
In a Fit of
Melancholy Caused by Suffering with Stomach Trouble
Mrs. Jensen of Farmington
Cut her Stomach and Died from the Wounds Inflicted
Sad
indeed is to have a death of loved ones but doubly sad to have it come from unnatural causes.
Mrs.
Jensen, the wife of a prominent farmer, Mr. Christian Jensen, who lives near
the Swede church in Farmington. Mrs. Jensen has been a great sufferer for
some months with stomach trouble and endured much pain. It is thought that her mind suddenly became
unbalanced for on Wednesday afternoon she took a butcher knife and deliberately
stabbed herself near the left side of her stomach intending to reach her heart
but the blade penetrated just under the heart.
As soon as her act became known Dr. Pelton was
sent for. He done all he could do to
stop the flow of blood and sent for Dr. Sander to assist and have a
consultation. But nothing could save her
she died about one o’clock Thursday morning.
Mrs.
Jensen was about fifty-nine years of age. She was a good wife and mother, a
kind neighbor and her death casts a gloom over her family and friends. She was a member of the church of the Holy
Ghost in this city. Funeral
at the church Sunday at 2 o’clock, Rev. Simonsen officiating.
The
husband and family have the sympathy of the community in their great sorrow.
