Frank A. Lowell of Rhinelander Dead

Franklin A. Lowell, an old resident of this city, passed away at Battle Creek Sanitarium Saturday, Jan. 15, where he had been a patient since Dec. 1.
Mr.
Lowell had been in ill health for several years and previously often visited in
Waupaca. He came to this city in 1887 to
act as superintendent of schools and remained until 1894 when he went to
In
1900 Mr. Lowell went to Rhinelander to act as superintendent of schools. While there he became associated with the
“New North”, the oldest and leading newspaper of that section of the
state. He also was county superintendent
of schools of
Mr. Lowell was a strong Progressive Republican and was active up to and through the last campaign. He was a strong advocate and personal friend of the late Robert M. LaFollette.
