BURIED TUESDAY

Miss Carrie Madison Dies Suddenly on Saturday Afternoon

Many acquaintances of Miss Carrie Madison were shocked Saturday to learn of her death, which occurred suddenly at about 2 o’clock.  She had been about the day before and even on Saturday morning, but received a letter which seemed to have a depressing effect and was seized with convulsions, dying in a very short time. The deceased was born in Waupaca township in February, 1885, and was 22 years, 11 months of age.  At the age of four she was adopted by A.C. Peterson, with whom she was living at the time of her death.  There were many rumors in the air and so the coroner had an examination, but found no evidence to support the theory of self-destruction and returned a verdict of death from convulsions, brought on by grief and disappointment.

A large number of friends attended the funeral which was held from the Peterson home at 1:30 on Tuesday afternoon, Rev. Andreasen officiating.  Her father and a brother, William Madison, of Oshkosh, and a sister, Emma A., of Madison, Wis., were present at the funeral.  Interment was at Lake View.
