            Thomas McCrossen a brother of John of this city and James and George of Wausau who with his wife have been members of the Veteran’s Home for nearly two years, died early Tuesday morning, aged 61 years.  Thomas served during the war of the rebellion in 14th Infantry.  On co-incident worthy of note: The funeral sermon Tuesday at the home was preached by the same minister, Rev. Hayward, who performed the marriage ceremony of deceased and his wife a (Miss Nash) in the village of Waupaca just thirty-eight years ago.  For a number of years past Thomas and his wife lived in Wausau until the came to the Veterans’ Home.  Besides his aged and invalid wife he leaves two sons Will of Wausau and George of White, S. Dakota, both of whom with his two brothers, James and George, and one sister, Mrs. Partridge of Wausau, and other relatives here, were in attendance at the funeral.  The funeral service was held at the Home Chapel, and the remains were laid at rest in the Waupaca cemetery.

            The relations, in Rural, Waupaca, Wausau and Dakota wish through the REPUBLICAN to extend their heartfelt thanks to Supt. Caldwell and wife and the attendants at the Home for their uniformly kind care and treatment, also to all who rendered so many kind offices to the deceased during his sickness, death and burial.
