OLD RESIDENT OF WAUPACA CO. DIES MONDAY

MRS. MADS PETERSON PASSES AWAY AT HOME IN FARMINGTON

AT THE RIPE AGE OF NINETY-SIX YEARS

 

            Mrs. Mads D. Peterson died at her home in Farmington Monday, Dec. 22, at the ripe age of eighty-six years, that being the anniversary of her birth.

            Deceased was born in Denmark and after marriage to Mads D. Peterson March 12, 1858, remained in her native country until 1866, her husband serving in the Danish-German war in 1863 and 1864.  Four children were born of this union.  The children are Fred Peterson of Shawano, Mary (Mrs. Ben Penney) of Farmington, Peter Peterson of Elderon and Regena (Mrs. Chr. J. Miller) of this city.

            On March 12, 1918, the couple celebrated their diamond wedding when the four children, twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren lived to wish this venerable couple the fullest measure of health and happiness.

            For some months before her death Mrs. Peterson was known to be failing and her demise was not unexpected.

            The funeral will be held Christmas Day with short services at the home at one o’clock and at the Holy Ghost church at two o’clock, Rev. James N. Lund officiating.
