Mrs. Mary
H. Poland, widow of the late Samuel S. Poland, died on Sunday, Nov. 24, at the
old homestead in Dayton, where she
has resided for half a century.
She
had been ill but a short time with pneumonia followed by a hemorrhage of the
lungs which proved fatal. Mary H. Warren
was born near Mt. Vernon, Ohio,
in 1834 and came to Wisconsin in
the early fifties with her parents. In
1857 she was married and made her home in Dayton,
where she has since lived. She is
survived by her son, E.C. Poland, who resides on the old homestead and two
daughters, Mrs. Truman Shoemaker of Dayton
and Mrs. L.F. Shoemaker of this city.
Two children died in infancy and a son, Warren, died at the age of
twenty years.
The
funeral will be held from the Crystal Lake church on Thursday morning, Rev.
A.T. Erickson of this city officiating.
