Pray Alvira
Waupaca County Republican
July 8, 1887
PRAY – In this city, on the 1st inst., Mrs. Alvira Pray, of Empire, Fond du Lac Co., aged 72 years.
Mrs. Pray was visiting her daughter Mrs. L.G. Miller, in the 3rd ward in this city; having come out from her home in Fond du Lac county, only the Thursday previous, apparently in the best of health and spirits for one of her age. On Friday morning she dropped dead with heart disease. Mr. Miller telegraphed the sad intelligence to the family at Empire and the husband, Mr. Pray, and his oldest son came on the next train.
On Saturday the bereaved ones took the remains to Empire for burial, the funeral being held at the church there on Saturday. Mrs. Pray was one of the oldest of Fond du Lac county pioneers and her death will be mourned by a large circle of friends and acquaintances.
Mr. and Mrs. Miller returned from their sad mission on Tuesday. They feel grateful, (being almost strangers in Waupaca) for the many kind acts and assistance rendered them in their affliction by neighbors and those who knew of the sad event.
