ROBERTS: - On Wednesday, February 11th, 1885, at Black Earth, Wis., R.D. Robert, aged 84.

Mr. Roberts, until a year ago, was a resident of the town of Waupaca, since nearly the first settlement in this part of the county.  He came to the town in the fall of 1856, and settled on a farm in the northeast part of the town, where he remained until his wife died and the last of his large family of children married and left him, since which time he has lived with his daughter, Mrs. Ezra Townsend, and with daughters in Minn. and Black Earth.  He was born at Glocestershire, England, and emigrated to the southern part of the state near Racine a few years before coming to Waupaca.  He was a man of sterling integrity and highly respected by all who knew him.  In March, 1860 he joined the Waupaca Lodge of F. and A.M.; being one of the charter members, and was buried by the members of that lodge last Saturday.
